Letraset Promarkers review - Basic Overview
So you're thinking of buying Letraset Promarkers and you want a helpful review? Well I'll try my best! I have had years of experience with these pens because I use them on my YouTube channel to colour in the characters that I draw. So I hope this Promarker review will be helpful to you! (I am not sponsored by Letraset Promarkers this is just my review!)
Letraset Promarkers are very colourful, very easy to use and have a very solid feel to them. I first started drawing with bog standard pens when I made my drawing channel on YouTube which was fun but they soon showed their down sides.
You see, when you colour over the same spot with cheap pens they can cause the paper to become rough and tear due to the felt rubbing on it over and over. This is really annoying when you've drawn a beautiful drawing and it's ruined right near the end because your pens have made the paper lumpy.
I did a bit of research to try and find some good quality pens that were affordable but produced solid results. That's when I came across Letraset Promarkers. I bought them from Amazon and they turned up pretty quick. I purchased what I call 'the beginner set' because this set of 12 pens contains 12 bright standard colours. You get red, green, blue, yellow, etc and a blending pen. These base colours are a great starting point, you can then buy different shades.
This is the pack I recommend you start with. It contains 12 vibrant tones;

Letraset Promarkers Review - How Do They Work?
Promarkers are double ended. One end is small and has a fine nib and the other has a wide end so you can colour in wide areas. I personally like using the wide end for most of my colouring in. This is because you can turn the nib on its side and it'll work quite well as a small nib. I do like the fact that the narrow nib (which is the same size you'd expect from and small tipped pen) is great for accuracy.
Promarkers are alcohol based pens so you get that board marker smell to them. You can't really smell them though unless you put your nose right up to them. I think being alcohol based it helps them to glide without turning the paper lumpy so you can colour back over an area to make the colour go darker for some awesome shading effects.
That's one of the things I do love about these marker pens. They glide so smoothly as you colour your drawings, and the colours jump out at you! They feel quality when you use them and I like the fact that they have a 'chunky' feel to them so for me they fit perfectly in my hand and don't feel uncomfortable. That's something I have found with other brands that use thinner styles of pens. Maybe that's just me though!
You can keep colouring over the same area to make it go darker and darker. You can watch me do this in the video below.
When you colour with these pens, they glide beautifully across your paper and eject their gorgeous and vibrant colours. I love the fact that the colours don't fade when they are on your paper. The colour looks the same as the colour on the pen.

Colours
As I mentioned before you can buy what I call the beginner set which has 12 bold colours. On my YouTube channel I sometimes draw characters with more diverse colours so I was happy to find that Letraset supply a wide variety of different shades.
You can buy these in packs of 6 or 12. However I decided to buy a wallet which comes with 32 colours which means you can get 4 different shades of one colour! This is really neat and can give your drawings a more professional look. The colours have really cool names too. I wanted to draw Squidward from SpongeBob Squarepants and needed the right colour. Luckily, and to my surprise I as able to find a colour called 'denim blue' which I personally think looks great.
Here's the drawing below to give you an idea of the more diverse colours which are available;

Some might say that Letraset Promarkers are 'entry level' art markers, and this may be true, however I believe you can use them well and have professional looking drawings. Heck, some people have asked me if my drawings are digital prints! That was a big compliment but also shows you that these markers can have a great look! I personally think they are just as professional as more expensive markers.
With a wide variety of markers including bold, metallic, pastel and more I think you can find exactly the right colours you need. The selection of skin tones are great too, there are many different shades if you're into drawing more realistic drawings of people.

HOW MUCH DO PROEMARKERS COST?
I thought at first I would have to spend a fortune on some quality markers, however, this wasn't the case. Of course if you buy big packs of pens they are going to cost more but I usually buy packs of 12 which on Amazon, are between £6-15. I think that is quite reasonable because the pens last quite a long time too.
I think this is because the cartridge is able to be bigger and hold more ink because of the wide pen. Even when using the wide tip end of the pen, I have found I can draw large areas on and on without any drying up. I post one video a week on my YouTube channel and I use the same colours over and over. Sometimes the pens can last months and months.
Obviously there are more expensive markers out there some would argue are better but, for me I think these pens are great value and amazing at what they can produce. I have tried copic markers in the past and they are great but I don't want to spend all my money using them! I personally feel you can do just as well if not better with Letraset Promarkers.

Letraset promarker review - conclusion
To be honest I haven't had anything bad to say about Promarkers in the last two years I've been using them. I love the way they feel, the way they look and the variety of colours you can get. If you want to get yourself a professional colouring pen that you can rely on then I would definitely recommended Promarkers.
I hope you have enjoyed my Letreset Promarker review and hopefully I've helped you make your mind up about whether to get some. I feel like these awesome pens are a low risk because they don't cost much and trust me...you'll be surprised at how nicely they glide across that paper.
