My Materials
If you want to know what materials I use in my YouTube videos then look no further. Here I will show you everything I use to create my drawings. There a few different bits, but you can get these things easily from places like Amazon.com for great prices!
My Paper
When I first starting drawing on YouTube I would go to my local art store and buy some regular A3 paper, which is absolutely fine! This paper served me well in my younger videos.
But I soon found out about the benefits of having quality paper. It might not seem like there could be much difference in the paper you use but actually, paper comes in all different kinds and can be used differently.
For example, for the pens I use, I soon understood that using Letraset paper would be a lot better! This paper feels like quality and it promises not to let the ink from my pens bleed. This means that when I colour in my drawings, the ink wouldn't smudge or spread out where I don't want it, which can be really annoying a can spoil a nice drawing!
I'm pretty happy with the results so far and I now only use this paper. Here's a link to this awesome paper;

My Pencils
I don't use any fancy pencils when I make my drawings. I like to use quite light HB pencils because they don't tend to show up under the black marker pens that I use.
When you use quite a heavy dark pencil and you go over the lines with your black marker pen, the pencil can often show through. This can be really annoying when you've got a great drawing!
However, really any pencil will do and I only use cheap pencils that you can get from any good craft store or on Amazon.

My Pens
So, now to the fun part. I use Sharpies to go over the pencil lines when I draw. They are awesome pens and are always reliable. I like using wide tip and narrow tip Sharpies for finer details.

Here's a link to my good old friend the Sharpie. Use it to create some brilliant looking and bold looking cartoon drawings!

My Colouring Pens
I get a lot of fans on my YouTube channel asking what pens I use for my colouring in. And the answer is.. Letraset Promarkers.
These pens are honestly awesome. There are a couple of other brands of pens out there quite like them but I prefer Promarkers personally. They are really fun and easy to use. I like them for many different reasons;
- They glide beautifully on paper.
- They can be blended easily to make different shades and don't leave annoying marks.
- They come in many different colours and shades.
- They come double ended for precision and wide area colouring.
- The colours are bright.
- They are just awesome :)

I would highly recommend these pens to anyone. Here's a link to some awesome vibrant tones so you can see for yourself.

WHITE GEL PENS
|
I love using white gel pens. They are not essential but when used correctly, they can be used to add highlights to drawings which give a really nice sense of contrast between the white and the dark areas.
